The island is a highly sociable community and most Friday evenings you will find a gathering of islanders in the Swan unwinding at the end of the working week.
In the Summer there is Duck Race day with the annual rubber duck challenge and a raft race. Rafts having to be made from any materials other than those used in boats. All finished off with a BBQ on the island green.
Each Christmas the islanders descend on one of the village pubs for a meal and carol singing, topped off with a visit from Santa of course.
Additionally there is usually a spring and Autumn gathering of some sort or other with a hog roasting on the island’s own spit.
